Cakewalk has casually announced that the first batch of Sonar 6 has started to ship. That collective orgasmic “ahh” you will hear will be the first ones arriving as Sonar Diehards get it on their harddrives. Alas, I will not be among them.
It is nothing more than finances. I have a lot of things in the air right now as I’m transitioning over to a (knock wood) more freelance based income. These means my disposable income right now is, well, less than disposable. And I’ve vowed to wrack up no new debt until it is reasonable and absolutely necessary to do so.
Believe me, I was feeling it last night when I was trying to time-stretch a piece of audio to do a quick remix for an online project. I could not get the Sonar loop editor to properly adjust for tempo. Here lies the answer to my problems.*
Anyway, hopefully I’ll get through all of this with an upgrade in the not-too-distant future. If anyone wants to work out a work-for-hire deal for a legitimate NFR copy I’m all ears. (As I say, possibly the only-reason I haven’t sold out is no one is offering.)
I will continue to post, but I’ll concentrate more on the investment I have already made. I’ve been working a lot with StylusRMX, as well as Kontakt. Hope to have actual audio soon.
*I’m assuming most Cake users have seen the link so I’m not going to embed it here. While you’re at YouTube though, check out the other Sonar-related videos, some of which are user-produced. Some great stuff.
